GARDENING: THE GATEWAY TO PEACE AND TRANQUILITY

Passionate about plants

There are lots of case studies looking into the Health benefits of Gardening and I hope to share my experiences with you.

The list of plants in each section are ones I grow in my garden.

I just love being in our garden.

Some of my favorite plants are shown below:
My garden

Consists of a traditional back garden laid to lawn with hard landscaping,  several seating areas and a summerhouse. Lots of pots and baskets.

The front garden from 2014 has been transformed into a tropical style garden and also has two fish ponds.

Back Garden

It is approximately 80 feet long and was designed  by Jenny and I and constructed in 2008 including the summerhouse. The latter and two other out buildings were expertly built by Graig Osler of Rayleigh Carpentry.

Front Garden

In 2004 we designed and landscaped the front garden which included two interlocking Koi ponds.

This has become my pride and joy. An immense sense of satisfaction. It consists of Banana, Ginger, Canna, Colocasia, Ricinus, Gaillardia, Coreopsis, Asclepias, Zinnia, Alocasia, Helianthus, Rudbeckia, Helenium and many more. Please click on the More icon above for more information on these plants.

Same view from our study taken March 2021. What a difference. Most of the plants die back and I do not have a winter garden as that would be all consuming. My obsession has to draw the line somewhere.
You can see a third Cordyline growing just in the distance another self seeded one.
